Elizabeth is a wonderful little girl. She has her issues, of course, but when she comes forth with things like she did today, she melts our hearts.
For a little background, one of her issues is performance anxiety, or shyness in front of a crowd. We have run into this with her before during ballet and the recital, when she is in new surroundings, etc.
It's not a huge, debilitating issue, but its there. Today was her Christmas pageant at school and she was the angel that held the star, a 'leader' role in St. George's show.
(this was not her costume today, by the way) :^)
Curiously, she was excited about it, practiced her songs all the time, and she did great!
I think Janet was a little curious about her excitement before the pageant and her ensuing wonderful performance. So, Janet asked her what was different this time versus her ballet recital, and here is Elizabeth's response:
- I know a lot more people at school, including parents in the audience.
- There were more kids on stage than in her recital. Everyone wasn't looking just at her.
- I know the pageant is about God.
